"There’s no truth to her being suicidal. She has problems that she needs to address and that’s it. She’ll pull through this. She just needs some time and space."
Britney’s sons rights suspended - Jan 15 2008
Britney Spears’ right to visit her two young sons will remain suspended after the troubled pop star made a flying visit to the latest custody hearing, but left without entering the court.
The ruling by Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon came after Spears, 26, showed up at her latest child custody hearing just long enough to be photographed before leaving without reaching the courtroom.
Behind closed doors, the Los Angeles court heard a full day of testimony concerning a stand-off with police at her home earlier this month.
The court commissioner decided to keep in effect an order suspending the star’s right to visit her two sons - one-year-old Jayden James and two-year-old Sean Preston - and keeping them in the custody of her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
He also set another hearing for February 19.
During the incident at her home on the night of January 3, Spears allegedly locked herself in a room with one of the boys and was later taken to a hospital in an ambulance chased by photographers.
Spears was placed on an involuntary hold on grounds she was a danger to herself or others and left Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre a day and half later.
Allan Parachini, a spokesman for the court, said those who testified were two Los Angeles police officers as well as Lonnie Jones, the bodyguard who apparently went to the home to get the children.

Britney misses latest court hearing - -Jan 15 2008
Britney Spears’ latest child custody hearing began in Los Angeles with the troubled star nowhere to be seen.
But the pop star’s former husband Kevin Federline arrived with his lawyer for the hearing, which is being held behind closed doors before Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon.
The hearing was ordered after the judge suspended Britney’s right to visit her sons, one-year-old Jayden James and two-year-old Sean Preston, following a stand-off at her home earlier this month.
Mark Vincent Kaplan, K-Fed’s lawyer, said police and emergency medical technicians who were summoned to the pop star’s home on January 3 after she refused to return the boys to her ex-husband were expected to testify.
During the incident, Britney locked herself in a room with one of the boys and was later taken to a hospital in an ambulance chased by photographers.
The Toxic singer was placed on an involuntary hold on grounds she was a danger to herself or others and left Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre a day and half later.
Mr Kaplan said he knew it was only a temporary measure when he obtained emergency court orders two weeks ago granting sole physical and legal custody to Kevin.
Britney has also missed previous court hearings, including a court-ordered deposition on December 12 when she called in sick. She also arrived nearly two hours late at a lawyer’s office on its rescheduled date, January 3.

Born in December 1981, Britney Jean Spears shot to fame in a blaze of pigtails and knee high socks in 1998 with her debut single Baby One More Time. Just seventeen years old Britney quickly became the biggest name in pop following up her success with Oops, I Did It Again, Lucky and Stronger as well as two albums, also called Baby One More Time. However, this wasn’t the first time Britney had tasted fame, she had started her career in American Saturday morning TV’s Mickey Mouse Club alongside pop rival Christina Aguliera and boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
During the early years of her career Britney made millions thanks to merchandising deals and successful hits. But she faced controversy throughout with rumours of plastic surgery and feuds with other stars. Her third album, which saw her take a sexier and more adult turn, was a relative disappointment while her critically panned but box office friendly debut movie Crossroads was a fleeting highlight. Meanwhile her long relationship with Justin Timberlake came to an end in 2002 amid claims that her reputation as a virgin was false and in fact that she had cheated on the N*Sync star. Britney responded by sharing a kiss with idol Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards - an act which saw the pair criticized more than admired.
The kiss signaled the end of Britney’s pop-childhood and with the release of In The Zone and the hit single Toxic she began building a new fanbase. A drunken Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment after just fifty five hours but, rather than concentrate on her career, Britney continued leaning on the lovelife self destruct button. She, despite advice to the contrary, married dancer, aspiring rapper and all round rat-faced bad boy Kevin Federline in a trailer trash wedding in 2004 and within months announced she was pregnant.
She gave birth to their first son, Sean Preston, in 2005, who was quickly followed by their second child, Jayden James, in 2006.
Following exhaustive media speculation with regard to the state of their marriage, Spears and Federline divorced in November 2006. The announcement saw an ongoing legal battle for the custody of their two sons.
