It may have made him a star - but it seems Big Brother winner Pete Bennett is no longer a fan of the show.

The wacky 25-year-old - who won the show in 2006 - is apparently unimpressed with the celebrity offshoots.

He told the Daily Star: "I'm not watching Big Brother. Most people I've spoken to think it's quite boring.

"BB7 was wicked but they followed it with the celeb series with Jade Goody.

"I didn't like it because of the racism towards Shilpa Shetty.

"I expected change to come with BB8 but it didn't happen. It didn't make me go 'wow' and there was another racist comment. I was a bit upset by the whole thing and it has put me off BB altogether."

Just 1,000 hopefuls turned up for this week's BB9 auditions - where Pete has been acting as a host and giving tips the the wannabe stars.

Pete - who suffers from Tourette's Syndrome - added: "When I auditioned for BB7 there were a lot more people trying out.

"Still, I've had fun going up to people and chatting to them, seeing what they're about.

"I've made a few friends and helped three people get through to the second stage."

Big Brother winner Pete Bennett has reportedly revealed that he and fiancee Cherry are postponing their wedding.

The pair - who were friends for years before they started dating last year when Pete finished with BB housemate Nikki - insist that their relationship is going from strength to strength.

Cherry told Reveal magazine: "We’re getting married next summer. This is our first proper summer together and we want to enjoy it. We’re been a bit lazy organising a venue and we wanted to go to Glastonbury but getting married takes a lot of organising, so we’re postponing until next summer."

The alternative couple - who have previously said they want to wed up a tree with Cherry’s dog as the pageboy - said they want to spend time making sure it’s the perfect celebration.

"We want to be able to look forward the wedding, instead of rushing it," she added. "Pete wanted everything to be mental. But I’ve taken over and toned it down a bit. I don’t want my parents to be too shocked."

It seems that Big Brother winner Pete Bennett has got over his relationship with former flame Nikki remarkably quickly - he has now revealed that he is engaged to his new girlfriend Cherry.

Speaking to Heat magazine, the Brighton joker said: "I’d been thinking about proposing to Cherry for a while, but I was a bit nervous.

"My idea came when I was eating some of those Love Hearts sweets with slushy messages on. One said ’Marry Me’ so I saved it in the packet upside down."

Unfortunately for the comedy wannabe, he had to wait a few days to summon up the courage to give it to her.

However, when he eventually did offer her the tasty treat - she accepted and now they are planning their impending nuptials.

So will they be getting wed up a tree, as he’s previously suggested?

"Cherry and I did meet up a tree though, so that might be nice."

And what about poor Nikki?
