A spokesman for Amy declined to comment.

Amy duets with dad? - Jan 9 2008

Amy Winehouse has apparently been trying to boost her confidence - by duetting with her dad.

According to the Daily Star, the 24-year-old - who returned from the Caribbean this week - crooned with 57-year-old Mitch at home during the Christmas period.

It seems Mitch wants to increase the sessions so Amy feels confident enough to perform at the Grammys on February 10 and the Brits on February 20.

A source told the paper: "Amy had her fair share of troubles in 2007, and she’s still dealing with Blake being in prison. But her little parties at home have given her quite a boost.

"She often has her mates round for drinks and inevitably most of the time she ends up singing. One night Mitch joined in and Amy loved it. They had a great giggle and it really made her feel good about herself so Mitch wants to repeat the experience as often as possible.

"Amy is settling back into London life after her trip to Mustique but Mitch hopes she can keep in high spirits.

"With the right preparation she should be able to light up the forthcoming award ceremonies with her stunning voice and remind people what she does best."

Amy to perform at Grammy Awards? - Jan 4 2008

Amy Winehouse is apparently determined to beat her demons in 2008 - and is kicking off her comeback with a performance at the Grammy Awards.

The Rehab songstress has a rocky 2007 after her husband went to jail and she cancelled her UK tour halfway through. However, after resting for a month she has chosen the prestigious event on February 10 to mark her return, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 24-year-old has been nominated in six categories including Record Of The Year for Rehab, Album Of The Year for Back To Black and Best New Artist.

A source said: "Her live performances can either be spectacular or car-crash territory but, either way, it’s a gamble organisers are willing to take as she’s such hot property."

Another insider added: "Amy is really excited to be asked to perform at the Grammys. It’s a huge event.

"She’s planning to do some sort of soul and Motown medley, and is even weighing up the possibility of a duet with some US stars - particularly Kanye West, who has spoken in the past of wanting to work with her."

Amy and Blake to renew vows? - Jan 2 2008

Amy Winehouse has apparently decided to renew her wedding vows with husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

The Rehab songstress hopes it will be a boost for Blake - who is currently behind bars at London’s Pentonville prison awaiting trial for assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, reports the Daily Star.

The 24-year-old is currently in the Caribbean, at Bryan Adams’ villa on Mustique, and plans to fly back this week to visit Blake and renew their vows.

"When Blake was first arrested, they both declared their undying love for each other and promised each other it’d be good to renew their vows," a source said.

"And the time feels right to do that now. They are missing each other terribly.

"Amy wants them to repeat the same vows they took when they originally tied the knot in a £60 ceremony in Miami last May."

Biography

Amy Winehouse hails from Osidge Lane, Southgate, although she currently lives in Camden. She is being feted as the new big thing with a voice likened to soul artists of the caliber of American soul queen Erykah Badu.

Amy and her brother Alex were brought up by her mum and grandmother, and fondly remembers ’Growing up in East Finchley was cool.’ She started playing guitar at 12 and listening to jazz. Her acceptance into the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School seemed to spell big things for Amy, although she was expelled at 15, apparently for getting her nose pierced. She carried on her studies at an all girls school in Mill Hill, which she hated as there were no fella’s there.

Amy made appearances with the Youth Jazz Orchestra, produced a demo tape of jazz covers that was picked up by Universal/Island Records, and they signed her almost immediately. She released her album Frank in October 2003 and supported Jamie Callum on his national tour. Amy then went on to be nominated for two Brit Awards, British Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Artist. Not bad for a girl of 20!
