Mr Ghalib told the syndicated television magazine The Insider that he had photographed Spears for several years before they grew closer in late December.

He apparently said their relationship blossomed after the pop star was released from a hospital following a stand-off in her home when she refused to return her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline’s bodyguard.

"We managed to spend a long time together, away from the media," Mr Ghalib said.

In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mr Ghalib denied accusations that he was profiting from the relationship.

"A lot of people perceive to know or understand her, she’s the most photographed woman in the world," he said.

"But if you take time to scratch the surface, then you can understand how amazing she is."

Biography

Adnan Ghalib is a British-Pakistani celebrity photographer, born in Afghanistan. Adnan moved with his family to the UK in 1977 as a five-year-old refugee, later settling in California. Since 2007 an affair with Britney Spears has brought him much fame to the world's entertainment industry.

Recent rumour and speculation state that he and Britney are engaged and she wants to get pregnant again. On January 22, 2008, Adnan Ghalib spoke with CBS's The Insider. He revealed intimate details about his relationship with Spears; including their infamous pregnancy scare. He states that he and Spears are "far from over".

On January 18, 2008, Azlynn Elizabeth Berry, Ghalib's wife of four years, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Mrs. Berry seeks spousal support and for Ghalib to cover her legal expenses.
