I was lucky enough to hear Pete Simpson sing a live set at Prestatyn at a dance weekender. His vocals absolutely blew me away. His range, emotion and strength were amazing. He seemed to have an inner light and was exceptionally genuine in his manner. I was surprised to read that John Prendergast didn�t consider Pete�s voice to be exceptional, with no great range. Over the years I have been lucky enough to hear (too many to list here) some amazing soul (Terry Callier, Phyllis Hyman), house (Michael Watford) and jazz singers (Jean Carne, Teena Marie) performing live and I would consider Pete to be as good as any other live performer that I have been privileged to hear live. Perhaps Mr Simpsons depth and range do not come across as strongly l recorded but I would strongly suggest that you should take the opportunity, should you get it, to go and listen to Mr Simpson if performing anywhere near you

Pete simpson is from huddersfield he got his frist club gigs at the musicfactory london rd and cairo jacks sheffield with the help ov the world famous dj chillout his bro! singing over beats i would play in the clubs. i think pete is better than this album. Big up spartan black, tasha, josh, jamaal - all the huddersfield and sheffield crews and the chill foo front! its all good! hotep

LOL Mr John Prendergast , I just saw your review of Domu Presents Pete Simpson, now by looking at some other reviews [ one in particular BOOTY LUV ] its obvious you have no respect for REAL music by REAL artists , stick to reviewing dodgy second hand remakes of old R&B tracks which have no SOUL and no place in the same breath as the Domu album.I know its your place to review music but if you like hashed up house then i would advise you stick to judging that, there's lots of it around so you should find yourself a busy man !!!
