I've always only walked passed this popular coffee shop on Portobello road despite being told for many years that they are the best in Notting Hill.

One morning before work, my colleague took me to The Tea and Coffee Plant. The place was full - a long queue, nowhere to move or sit and the music was loud... but the coffee was good.

I have been back on a few occasions and enjoy it every time... the coffee, the atmosphere and the mix of people.

This place has the best coffee in London. And also possibly the cheapest. I haven't tried absolutely *everywhere* ofcourse, no one could but I still feel very confident in saying this. Now what more can you ask for? Well sometimes you can ask them to turn the music down a little in the mornings but apart from that its hard to fault it.

I go there just after lunch from where I work nearby to chill out for 10 minutes with a Soy Cappucino. Its a habit that's hard to break.

The place has a really nice relaxed, casual, slightly grunge, stripped back feel. The staff greet you like they're actually happy to see you, like they enjoy serving you and being there. Now in London, that's saying something! There's a care and attention that's gone into it, a personal touch that makes it distinctive and authentic.

I've been a big fan of this place for more than a decade - market stall and shop 1 and shop 2. The coffee is always great BUT I'm a bit disappointed that some of the new baristas don't take as much care over the milk. The lovely Australian and New Zealand folk were the best and would create cool patterns in the milk. Alas, it seems they've all returned home which is a shame. But there's still something charming about the place and apart from occassional ear-ache - when one of the staff turns up the volume on some favoured ethical track - I'm still a big fan of this shabby but character-ful place.

Nothing but the best. The lovely ladies serve fantastic coffee, tea, and fresh pasteries with a candid and fresh attitude! I made it a morning tradition and was happily called "the bucket" as I ordered a triple flat white in what they call a "bucket" size! I have since moved to Paris but I miss the food and the atmosphere that their morning crew graced me with. I stop in every trip back but hope you stop in and make them your regular stop!

I used to love this place. By far some of the best and most reasonably priced espresso drinks (wicked croissants) in the city. The staff is diverse w/personality, but they're pretty slack. Hours are supposed to be from 8-6 (I think that's the closing time), but don't count on it. They act like they're doing you a favour if you want coffee at 8.20 and they've just strolled in hungover... Now I get my morning fix at Progreso. Coffee isn't as good, but at least Progreso is owned by Oxfam so your money is being put to good use.
