One of the few establishments that has saved Withington high street from falling to ruin, Fuel is a vegetarian haven offering a bewildering selection of veggie meals and snacks. Don't take the privilege lightly though, the prices will challenge even the wealthiest wallet so it's always worth investigating the sharing platters. The quirky nature of the restaurant continues upstairs, where a dimly-lit lounge regularly hosts music, poetry and alternative arts. Combine the products from both floors and you'll certainly go back wanting more.
Set aside from the bustling Fallowfield scene Withington lurks as a slow growing epicentre of low key bars and pubs that don???t seem to have the reputations of the surrounding areas, but just have the under-the-surface cool that you may be looking for on a quiet night out. A fine place for such understated shenanigans is Fuel, a small vegetarian restaurant/ bar in the centre of Withington Village, serving up such tasty morsels as veggie burritos and tacos, but in addition to this the venue also houses a small (read cosy) upstairs function room which is occasionally decked out for band nights and the like. All of which seem to subscribe to the locales modest idiom, boasting such chilled out experiences such as the excellent fortnightly Red Deer Club, which serves as a home for all the latest unrecognised folk and acoustic artists in the area.
This place has an excellent feel to it, stick you're boho pretensions and get filled up on vege sausages and cheese. Ok so the menu is pretty samey but who cares great music particularly Golden Labs Rowf! Night. Avant Garde my dears... avant garde.
