Touristtrap and worst service ever experienced in a London restaurant...
Even though the food was quite good, service was nonexistent and we didnt enjoy our evening for that huge amount of money we paid:
- it took more than an hour to serve the food (there must be a reason while they take their take away food service so serious)
- unfriendly atmosphere
- non-englisch speaking service (couldnt clear our complaints about confusing bill, since everything was a different price as on the menu)
- dishes didnt match the description on the menu
My boyfriend is the sous chef in a 2 michelin starred Mayfair restaurant and we both LOVE this place. Khans is good, yes, but the NHT serves alcohol too!
We LOVE hot food but even we were blown away by the hot one on the menu - even the waiters give you a verbal warning as well as the written warning on the menu.
Think we'll be getting a take out later. Enjoy.
I will first confess that the staff at the Notting Hill Tandoori encouraged me to write a review. Nevertheless, they did not tell me what to right and I will give an honest review.
I love Indian food and one of my first priorities when I moved into Notting Hill was to find a great indian restaurant in the area. Having tried a couple that I was not impressed with, I eventually found this place.
I have been a regular ever since, which is now almost two years.
The food quality is good (8/10). I have never had a bad meal from them and I enjoy every mouthful. However, from my flirtations with other restaurants in the area, there are restaurants with food that is a tiny bit better (8.5/10).
But what sets this place streaks ahead of all compition is the price. I have never found such good food for the price offered by the Notting Hill Tandoori. I have a lamb rogon Josh, Vegitable rice (which I have previously viewed as extravigant), Keema naan and onion bargies all for about £12.00. The same at other restaurants with similar quality food might cost £16-20.
If you do not wish to pay over the odds for great indian food without sacrificing the quality, this is the place for you.

We've been going to Notting Hill Tandoori for about 6 months, and they have now become the "go to" take-away in our household. Their food is consitently great and often amazing (amazing = better than any food I've had in India). When you eat in, their service staff are helpful and seem to take pride in their food.
A few suggestions: their vegetable korma and raan lamb chunk are beautiful dishes, especially when ordered together. We find them to go perfectly with just plain steamed rice and a few popadoms.
Enjoy!
Looking for a great curry in Notting Hill? Look no further! Excellent food and great service. The delivery guys are super. Reccommend the chicken shashlik rogon.
