Despite the queues in this place - which on a hot day or rainy day (think seaside and then delicious comfort food), go out the door and can take half an hour to get through, owing to all of Soho's media novices turning up with lists of 20+ combinations of fish and chips for the big shots who wait back at base - the wait is very worthwhile. The fish they serve is tasty and impressively big. Last time my cod stretched over each side of the plate - a rare occurrence at most chippies nowadays - which is just as well at ???4.40 a pop. The batter is light and crunchy and you can certainly tell you are getting quality fish. The downside is the fact that because it is so busy you can often hear the manager shouting and arguing with his staff feet away from you. Embarrassing and awkward. Blunders are few and far between and generally orders arrive just as you asked, despite the stress the staff are under. All in all a very yummy meal if you don't mind hanging around for it. You certainly do get what you pay for. I recommend it.
