cottons had a brilliant atmosphere, staff were fun and professional. food is amazing.if u dont like spices stay away, but food is great
I recently booked a table at Cottons for myself and some work mates, as I'd walked past the place every day for the last few months, so thought better give it a shot.To sum up, the food was so bad, dry and overcooked that I've seen better food on those Gordons Kitchen Nightmares shows, and the service was ignorant and rude.No discounted from the tab was offered, despite the food being this awful. I would reccommend everyone avoid this awful place with a bargepole...
Cottons Islington: We were a big table and some of us arrived a little late. The food was decent although we were only given the choice of the set menu, which leaves little choice if you are vegetarian! 1 starter choice and 1 main course, but over priced and undersized compared to the meat dishes, as we veggie's were left very hungary! The service was appalling and totally embarrassed our host who had booked for her birthday, we were rushed through the meal and desserts were brought out whilst some were still eating their mains. Also we were charged service on individual drink orders, which we were not aware of from the drinks menu, when we suggested going to the bar ourselves, this was disallowed as we had a table, yet we couldn't add the drinks to the main bill! Even if the food wasn't bad, the experience was ruined by the service and pushy staff.
Cottons Exmouth Market is the worst restuarant I have ever eaten in. I too saw the chefs standing outside smoking, and as this was just by the front door, I saw this as a bad sign from the start. Our food was inedible, the service utterly lacksture and the restuarant itself was done out in a very cheap way. We even went downstairs to the 'rhum jungle' a bar with all the design and character of a pub with a council estate on the roof.A genuinely awful place.
Went to this branch last Saturday after vowing never to return after a bad experience two years ago and being a total regular of the branch in Camden. Well ... Well what a change of heart i have. There was 14 of us starving and ready to drink. On arrival we were quickly seated and given our menus. I was totally impressed by the selection in front of me as were the rest of us. The Seabass stuffed with spinach or calalo (not sure of the name) is a must for any fish loving person ... topped down with their China Breeze cocktail (although it would've been nice to see our waitress more but as it was a busy night I can thoroughly understand)The Food ... The Cocktails and the combination of entertainment - The Singer and then DJ made my guests and my night a GREAT one. My view has definitely changed regarding this restaurant and I will most definitely be back***End Note***A great 2nd branch well done Cottons
