"This venue rocks. I have seen the best rock bands on a friday at this venue. These bands have changed my life. Buff Medways, Dirty Fuzz etc

The drinks are well cheap and i like the fact that the crowd are cool without trying to be cool. Nice girls..."

"I went to dirty water Friday to see two US punk bands but my night was made good by first band The Phobics.

Very blastout loud punk rock like old days but good tunes all the way. Dirty Water was good night out and I go back to Spain to tell my friends where to come.

Phobics gave me cd for free too can't wait to go home to play it!"

The Boston arms is a large pub opposite Tufnell park station and it is overflowing with over 40's Irish punters slapping thighs and banging glasses to the tunes of a seedy band playing classical songs that I am sure I have never heard before.

To say the least I felt out of place but found a table to the left of the bar and suddenly felt like I was sitting in an American diner. There were drawn blinds across the windows and booth-like tables around me.

I would say it was over crowded but it did have a hearty atmosphere with the glow of the fruit machines around us. Drinks were about £1.20 a shot so there was no reason to complain about the price but the toilets were nasty and, in a word, it felt a bit in-bred.

Overall it managed to stay open way past 3am which is impressive for a pub as large as this but I did feel a bit out of place in here:

Hello, I'm on a mission to visit and rate every pub, club and bar in the UK. I know what your thinking but don't worry- i've got an artificial liver on standby.

""Straight opposite Tufnell Park tube, The Boston Arms is a pub full of character and characters. Many might get intimidated when they first walk in but this is what a real North london pub is all about. Quality beer and food (cheap as well), pool table, 6 good TV screens for the football (this is an Arsenal pub but all sorts watch all the matches) and a very carefree atmosphere. A real locals pub, you get a mix of families out on a Sunday, Irish brickies propping up the bar and others having a drink before visiting the adjacent club, The Dome. The bar staff could do with being a bit quicker but I suppose that's part of the charm. Recently refurbished, The Boston Arms is a refreshing change to many of the 'trendier' gastro pubs springing up in the area. A real community pub.""
