Indians are a difficult lot when it comes to food. They like food that is ‘tasty’, ‘distinctive’ and ‘appropriately spiced’. And modern Indians are just a nightmare, demanding food that is ‘light and simple’, ‘carefully prepared’ and using ‘fresh ingredients in an inspired way’.
rooburoo (pr: roo-bur-roo) means ‘face to face’ in a variety of Indian languages. We offer food from all regions of India that is appropriate for anytime of the day. Snacks for when you’re on the go, bites for when you’re peckish and meals for when you’re hungry. We’re located in the middle of Chapel Market and a few minutes walk from Angel station. From the food halls near Greater Kailash in Delhi to the Officer’s Mess in Kashmir to Mr Patel taking a break behind the counter in his paper shop in Harrow, Indians are snacking, dining and feasting, all day, every day...
Love this place, especially the seafood dishes! My favourite is the seafood malabar whichis literally a feast for anyone like me - obsessed with fish. Cocktails are simple but effective too!
I love this place, it's a great hideaway from the hubub of chapel market and upper street, food is great, and service always friendly. My faves are the crab salad and seafood malabar - divine! Great chilled out vibe too, top notch
andy good stuff, i always enjoy reading a good slating but ime a bit confused about yout rating policy you use terms such as adequate, fine and good but you only give two marks 0/10 or 1/10, too many numbers probably confuse you so ide suggest you switch to another marking scheme.
very good. price has gone up since our last visit (about a year ago, yeah, inflation) but quality is still very good. unfortunately, my favourite dish, monk fish tikka is not on the menu any more. still, great night out. highly recommended

Mr Hayler, are you for real? Food at Rooburoo has been exemplary every time I've visited with friends. I think both the green chicken and malai chicken are the most tender and best to be savoured this side of the Thames. Also tried the salad with crab and littered with pomegranite seeds - simply divine! Shall be back soon.
