Geeeez people, where do you think you are? Locanda Locacelli or perhaps the Ivy?

Take La Forcetta for what it is, a place to get cheap pizza and pasta with nice simple and fresh ingredients and you will have a great time!
Yes, I agree thatit's not somewhere you'd go for your first date, it's not somewhere you'd take the inlaws, it's not somewhere to propose. It is however great for a group of friends, for a couple who have been dating for a while and don't need fancy bullshit all the time but just can't be bothered to cook dinner. I really love this place and I don't mind the waiters being slightly "easily distracted", I mean it's around £6 a pizza- what on earth do you expect?!?! If you want to be pampered and hoovered over througout your meal then this is definitively not the place- but then that's not always bad.

I seriosuly do not understand people who choose pizza express over the road, we did once and paid more for really shitty horrible pizzas- i kept longingly looking out the window and across the road.

Go somewhere else if you're looking for a memorable flashy night, if you're looking for a decent and less pricy alternative to a proper meal out, go to La Forchetta and enjoy their cheap house wine!

Our visit to Forchetta was very disappointing. The food although well presented , was rather poor. The rubber sea-food salad was swimming in a vinegar and the pizza didnt taste too good either .The staff lacked personality and asked us to order 3 times! It seemed like they were more interested in football and we simply interrupted them watching it.A real let down!

Definitely disagree with all postings above, can only imagine that a competitor (of which there are quite a few so take your pick of suspects) has decided to stoop to a very low level. Love the food, thin, crispy authentic oven cooked pizza. Great mussles in spicy tomato sauce, good tricalore salad. Brie fritters with cranberry sauce was very good. It was a friends birthday(kind of) and they played happy birthday over the PA (don't tell Disney, who own the rights to the song) and brought a free tiramasu. OK the service is not anything amazing, but hey when did Italians give a F**k about service, it's all about the food and if you love good food, you'll be able to see past that particular flaw. Otherwise you could give their overpriced competitors la Porchetta a try and sit elbow to elbow with complete strangers, and probably eat something that'll leave you hungry and disappointed. All I'd say is give it a try and make up your own mind. But I know where I go when I want an authentic italian Pizza and I live in Old Street a good 20 minute walk away.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. I was looking for a place to enjoy a glass of wine and some pasta, and was quickly seated by the hostess. It went downhill from there. I sat for 20 minutes with not even so much as a nod from my server as he passed by. Finally, I looked around to get some attention, and another server noticed, and asked if I wanted a drink. I placed a drink order and mentioned that I was also ready to order my food, and she just said ok and walked off to another table, not bothering to let my server know. Another 10 minutes passed without anyone coming by to check on my table, and finally I had to ask the hostess if she could get someone to take my order. It was only then that my server came, but without a word of apology for the inattentiveness. At this point, what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening was completely ruined. For great Italian food *and* attentive service at a comparable price, I'd suggest Carluccio's just another minute up the street instead.

La Forchetta certainly had an inviting atmosphere. Tables out the front, customers looking relaxed, a few bottles and a a few giggles, helped draw my party in.Initial attention from the staff was good, a seat and tableware appeared rapidly, along with the menu.A waitress arrived asking "Drinks?" whislt looking over her shoulder and paying more attention to the goings on in Upper Street. Having repeated the phrase "Southern Comfort" four times, and getting a blank look, I pointed to the words in the menu to assist her.Drinks were delivered without a word. The starter came, and was really rather good. However the long wait for the main course without any further offer of "drinks?" was bordering on tiresome. The main course finally arrived, and again was more than palatable, and certainly value for money. The empty plates sat for sometime after we had finished and were eventually removed without a word. Despite wanting to order dessert and coffee, the bill appeared without request at our table. We decided therefore to take our final course elsewhere, and pulled out the debit card, and left it next to the bill.Another waiter arrived, took the card, and punched some details into his hand held payment device, and plonked it on the table and walked off. Clearly this was the bit where I was supposed to enter my pin.The transaction was conducted with out word. We got up to leave.. no "thank you" no "have a nice evening" nothing...Im not a big fan of cloying customer service, but I do like a little attention. It felt like we were almost an inconvenience that had to be endured rather than acknowledged. The food was more than reasonable, and if it were not for the Fast food style customer service, I would most definately have returned. Alas...
