Wonderful, authentic Italian snug boasting excellent dishes and some fantastic wines. Quiet on mid-week evenings so never a problem to get a table. Probably one of the best kept "secrets" in West London. The staff are some of the friendliest ever encountered - the owner taking interest in what you order, even suggesting how different combination's might work better. With all the Strada and Pizza Express chain culture infesting this country, it is so refreshing to find a real independent gem! A short stroll from Kensington High St, Hammersmith Broadway, West Ken Tube or Olympia! The Crespolini comes highly recommended. Comfort food at it's very best !
Pasta amazing but rissoto was a let down.
This is an understated, but powerfully good restaurant. The proprietor is an Italian woman who's just as you might imagine. Persuasive. Friendly. Persistent. Caring. She'll recommend the soup of the day, which is always fabulous. I had a cucumber soup one day, and it was out of this world. You have all manner of choices for an entree. Pasta. Meat. You decide. It'll come deliciously prepared by the kitchen staff. The restaurant is small. Probably 10-12 tables total. The "bar" is really just a serving area. You'll drink your liquids at the table. If you are craving good Italian in the Hammersmith area of London, give Avellino a try. I eat there every time I'm in town. Good luck...
