Here’s a restaurant you should check out: it’s called The Olive Tree, and it has been one of Hammersmith’s best loved restaurants since September 2005.
Why are we recommending the Tree to you? Well, we’ve been very impressed by their attitude towards food. They say that the emphasis here is on honest, nationally sourced, skilfully prepared and reasonably priced food, and our experiences have proven this as true. Certainly, there is an abundance of organic products to be found, and you can believe that great care is taken to assure that the meat is additive free and that the fish is delivered fresh to the chefs every day.
Starters on offer include Beef Carpaccio with Black Olive and Chilled Cucumbers and mint soup for starter, and lavender roast lamb rump, sautéed cherry tomatoes and potato grain for main course. There is something on the extensive menu for every taste.
There’s plenty to keep you comfortable when you’re not at your table – the fully stocked bar serves classic and contemporary cocktails in addition to some nice premium beers and some rather fine wines. The only thing you have to do is kick back in one of the booths or on the sofas.
If entertaining is your business, you might be interested in the excellent private dining facilities. The dedicated private area is fully equipped, complete with its own bar and a very swish projector for screenings and presentations.
All in all, a fine choice for a special occasion, intimate meal, or friendly catch up with friends.

The best bar in Hammersmith. Fantastic service and great cocktails.
A great place for yummy cocktails and much appreciate in this rather quiet area. The only criticism I have is that the barstaff should try and get an icecrasher machine for their caipirinhas and similar cocktails. The noise the produce crashing the ice makes it impossible to understand each other if you sit close by the bar. Honestly it really takes away from the fun. Otherwise great food and brilliant atmosphere.
Having spent a lot of time working in New York recently, the service there (which is invariably good) was never as good as at The Olive Tree. Having eaten at The Olive Tree three times in the last month I have found the food and drink really excellent and very consistent. The cocktails beat Balthasar in Soho NY hands down and the kitchen can easily hold its own with anything in the East Village.
