Tucked in between a kebab shop and a barber, this basement bar is a true gem. The walls are adorned with vintage film posters, Victorian portraits and contemporary art; all of which feature a moustache of course. Bowler hat chandeliers and dolls suspended over the bar give it a slightly camp edge and the outside terrace is ideal for smokers. There’s no draught beer or food on offer but the 4am license makes up for it. Kooky, kitsch and a lot of fun.

The Moustache Bar is Dalston's worst-kept secret. But it is well worth a visit, even if it has lost some of it's mystique. A basement bar, it features 'wacky' decor and comfy sofas, residing on which you will probably find some trendy youngster (possibly with a fake/real moustache). It's quite small, but the drinks are cheap, the music is banging and the little smoking area is a nice hangout.
