I've just moved here, and don't know London or Notting Hill well at all. Where is the good nightlife? Whats important is that is has a friendly vibe, decent music and cheapish drink!
i used to live in London and i'd definitely recommend The Island in Kensal Rise. Great food and a great atmosphere, they have a jazz night on thursdays (last time i heard). The good nightlife, in my opinion, in trendy little bars that are dotted around the place, you should check out the reviews on here. For your first big night out in London, i sooooo wouldn't recommend all the trendy bars, where you pay £10 for a drink and £20 to get in...you should have a look and see what bands are playing at places like the barfly and fly bar etc, me and my mates always went to random gigs and we had a great laugh! xx
If you’re after a no frills, make mates kind of place, Mau Mau is good. It attracts a diverse crowd and gets very full at the weekends. Also you could try the Pelican and Metropolitan both have slightly older crowds then Mau Mau and the clientele is more conventional. The Metropolitan gets very busy at the weekends and has a good DJ on Sunday evenings.
Going north, Paradise and The Regent are both good bets. Both have been done up recently and have Djs at the weekend. Paradise has full on club nights upstairs and hosts a full fun party crowd who are into decent music.
Yeah i would agree with Roifield, Mau Mau is super friendly, cheap drinks and also a great place to see where the party might unexpectedly end up. The Fat Badger is also a good spot but has turned pretty quite of late. Under The Westway ( http://www.myvillage.com/mvcore/places/1283-under-the-westway/) is good for a local late night. If you are feeling especially out for a rowdy night then Notting Hills best nightclub is most likey The Notting Hill Arts Club ( http://www.myvillage.com/mvcore/places/1295-the-notting-hill-arts-c...) If you like Hip Hop mixed with a bit of indie then check it out on a Thursday! The Cobden
( http://www.myvillage.com/mvcore/places/1171-the-cobden-club/ ) is also a good spot with some great cocktails if that floats your boat. It is also worth checking out the far end of Westbourne Park Road where you have The Cow & The Westbourne, a slightly more upmarket yet still laid back vibe! maybe see you round....
All you do is mate...go to your page, click on the sub category 'my events' and to your far right corner there is a link which says 'add an event' ...looking forward to seeing it!
