My friends and I enjoyed a brilliant night in this stylish bar last Friday night (11.04.08). The staff were amazingly attentive and provided drinks service all night so we didn't have to even try and get to the packed bar. The music and atmosphere were superb - really upbeat and fun. Delicious cocktails - Berry Mojito YUM!, great service and good tunes we'll definitely be back for more!

1802 has a nice atmosphere, but the drinks are expensive due to the affiliation with the Docklands Museum.

1802, in the East India Docks museum is named after the year that the East India shipping company was founded but that's where the history lesson ends. 1802 is as modern as they come, with a lovely city loft feel to it - all comfy leather sofas and bare brick walls and the clientele are more often than not the up market young professionals that are making Docklands the place to be. "Serving modern European Cuisine, 1802 is best in summer when you can sit outdoors with views over the marina and sup a glass of wine while you await your starters. The selection of dishes is excellent, with lovely seafood such as Cornish crab starters and herb crusted cod mains. However, as the day wears on the menu becomes smaller and smaller and by night is just bar snacks. 1802 advertise as an all day restaurant so this is misleading but if you're sure to get her in time it's well worth a visit. "Don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad about the bar menu! The little dishes are fine for a pre drink stomach liner and give the taste buds something to think about before you get down to the important business of drinking. It's just that it can be disappointing if you're expecting a leisurely meal and find yourself faced with a rammed bar and no sign of a dessert menu, so make sure you check serving times before you head out. "Cocktails here are lovely with a great selection to suit all tastes and the braver among you will enjoy working your way through the delicious menu. For the less exotic drinker there are bottled beers and an extensive wine list, which although uninspiring has plenty to keep your average wine drinker happy. "1802 is really elegant and everything is well executed from the decor to the food, served immaculately. As you sit here with your cocktail you really feel like you're a part of the up and coming Docklands area.

"Our Office had their staff Christmas lunch here and were looked after extremely well. The staff were very gracious and the service was impeccable (even during the busy festive season). The food was beautifully presented and we were not crammed in like sardines. To the disappointment of a few, there were no roast pots with the traditional turkey dinner and we were seated at what I can only describe as "garden furniture" with huge spaces in between the strips of wood, and everyone, without exception, lost a piece or all of their cutlery at some stage. Overall we had a very enjoyable afternoon/evening and would like to thank all the staff who helped make it that way. "
