When the food is on top form it can't be beaten by any of the surrounding Indina or subcontinental restaurants - however the wine list has been a bit odd in the past (with no single varietal chardonnays or sauvignon blancs). Strange.
I am writing this to lime management. I was very unhappy with my visit to Lime . I have been to Lime a couple of time, the food is very nice . I placed an order for takeaway and I was told by the waiter, who had a very poor english and could not even explain me properly that there was no delivery man available. This happened to me twice in the afternoon that I have been told that lime dont deliver At home.
Lime Restaurant is a model of elegance, sophistication and attention to detail. Dishes are full of tastes from India and Bangladesh such as Chicken Chilli Jalfrezi, Wild Duck Shaslik, Bengal Lamb Curry. This restaurant is full of surprices and the quality of food and services is at high standard. Every dishes is created with great care and high quality spices, even the chicken is different from other Indian Restaurant. This restaurant is highly recommended.A.K Anand BaksiChef of the Year 2006Masala Magazine, India
Lime Bar and Restaurant is a fantastic curry house with quality food and excellent service. Everything about this restaurant is quality. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to others. Try the Bengal Handi curry and Chicken Sizzler. Over the last eight months under new management Lime has improved so much that it is difficult find any faults with the quality of food. I eat at this restaurant once a week and I must say it is far better than any other Indian restaurants that I have eaten in London. Try it for yourself. You will be amazed.
We too used to frequent Lime when it first opened as it is across the road from our apartment. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing. They also had the unique selling point of making anything for you, even if it wasn't on the menu. I tried this on a couple of occassions and was very happy with what I got.Unfortunately over the past year we have seen a steady decline - mostly in service. Wrong orders, waiting for half hour for dessert to come out - only to be told that they'd forgotten, really annoying 'over compensation' when something goes wrong... it all adds up to a bad dining experience. In my opinion it started when they hired the waitress - I know they probably did it from a PR point of view, thinking that a young waitress would be better for the punters. But she adds nothing to the place, and if anything has been a detriment. We gave it chance after chance, but finally enough was enough and we've never been back.
