To the Disgusted customer who had lunch at Via Fossa on the 15th March, and had the trouble of getting back to work, and sit down at his desk, and spend time writting a comment on this page; perhaps you should work your own time menagement and do more job insted of given it to your PA. If you could spend time doing nothing and writting it's because you are not busy at all and is just city prick who has nothing more importnt to worry about rather than humiliate restaurant staff. The restaurant and kitchen might have been very busy on that day, unlike you, (I know how things are as I work in a restaurant myself and things sometimes things don't work the way we want!!) Was in Via Fossa last night and I have never experienced such rude security staff at drink up time. If you are serving drinks and taking money for them, you have to give people enough time to drink them!

Thank you for your comments.Whilst we know that the eclectic mix of furniture and staff won't appeal to all, we do endeavour to be a little individual in an area dominated by brands. Each member of staff here has a say in how the bar looks and feels, giving us a unique point in corporate canary wharf. Also, as we're in a grade 1 listed building we are bound by the restraints of what we can actually do to the building, so cavernous it has to be.I was pleased to read that you enjoyed the food, we strive to come up with simple and creative menus, and will be launching a whole new dining concept here the early part of this year (08), and would love the opportunity to invite you down to a tasting, so please do get back to me with your email and I will send the invite out.via1684@tattershallcastlegroup.com

Hi MikeThank you for your review, which we have taken very seriously. I have looked at the time and date in question (14th December), and can say that whilst on the ground floor we may have appeared quiet we had 150 guests in our first floor restaurant, something we were not expecting so were quite literally rushed off our feet and it was all hands to the pumps upstairs. We do have in place a customer service charter outlining our ideals for the customer experience, so would really love the opportunity to prove to you that what you experienced was far from the norm here at Via.I do hope that you will contact us so we an have the opportunity to rectify the situation.Looking forward to hearing from you.Sam (GM)

This place used to be great, but the last few times I've been in the service has virtually been non existent. Went in yesterday (13/12/07) and waited 5 mins at the bar with no one appearing. During this time other customers came in, then left. Asked a waitress if anyone was working behind the bar, who then reluctantly served me. Place virtually empty, so found a table, looked at the food menu, but no one wanted to take the order.Took two trips to the bar to get the waiter over. Food is average. They got the order wrong, on suggesting they don't charge for the wrong item, we got 1 off. Not impressed. With so much competition at West India Quay you'd hope there would be incentive to perform well. I guess this comes down to management though. My advice, try one of the other bars. It's a shame, it used to be one of my favourite bars there.
