Tommy Flynn’s is rumoured to be a rough pub at the colder end of the red hot nightlife that is Camden Town, except these rumours have only been fueled by what seems to be fair bouncers and live showcased bands which themselves may play the odd heavy note but are by no means violent. I was lucky enough to watch the Vigoursperform at this venue recently and it added a better dynamic to the venue.
Quite literally there is a small stage off to the left of the bar and right in the front window and the walkway leads down past a bar to the left into a back space where there are tables at different heights. The toilets are not the best and the drinks are a bit on the expensive side but it does well to pose as a venue for bands fighting there way among those that would be just as comfortable in the Dublin Castle or Boogaloos in Highgate.
Overall certainly not the best venue for live acts in Camden but those more hardcore fans of semi-pro music maybe more at home in here, closes a little too early as well.
I went to a night here a couple of weeks ago and have gone back pretty regularly ever since!. There is a night down there called Who's Jack every Thursday with some seriously good live music and a great crowd. Would give it a huge thumbs up but don't expect to make it into work on Friday!
Was just making a flying visit to London, My last appointment was in Camden, so i thought i would have a couple of beers before i headed back to my hotel, 10 pints later!!!!! i made it to my hotel.i have never met so many nice and friendly people in one place, the bar staff, were fantastic and the charters in there were great.the beer was excellent, and the karaoke!!!! next time I'm down in the city, i might just make sure my last appointment is in Camden again.
