Manu Chao 16/12/08
It triggers amazement when a multilingual artist dominates a UK venue. With his hits emblazoned on every playlist, Manu Chao proves why he continues to reign the charts. With a venue teeming with a mish mash of listeners, the flamboyant singer graces the mic with great charisma and stamina. Hits like, ‘Welcome to Tijuana’ and ‘Rumba de Barcelona’ spun enthusiasm and elation.
Trickling down with mucho energy, Manu Chao’s showdown was a compact affair. From vibrant tracks, great musicianship to sashaying hips, this gig was not for seaters. Three encores ignited the throng and a charged, ‘La Primavera’ led to an exuberant display of passion and jubilance - we only wished it could have been for longer!
last time i went to the forum was to see Trentemoller live and he absolutely blew me away
the venue was perfect for his performance, packed on the main floor but room to move and have a great view from upstairs... the perfect gig
What a great night! The music is wicked and the girls are so hot - gotta love the school uniform! You are garenteed a good night out here....
This Mean Fiddler venue is far from glitzy being an old cinema that has undergone minimal renovations and serves its beverages in cans or plastic cups. However, it does host some wicked nights, has a pretty mean sound system and loads of room for dancing. Highlights include Van Morrison, Prince, The Velvet Underground, Oasis, Pulp, Dru Hill, Beenie Man, Jay-Z, Sean Paul, The Libertines and Jamiroquai.
