Although I would never usually go to the trouble of writing a review- following my recent birthday drinks at this bar I have decided to take the time to warn others of this pitfall.

When I first went in to arrange a booking with the manager he was polite and friendly assuring me that I would be given a sofa area and telling me to get my friends to register to receive offers and free entry.

BUT when we arrived on my birthday night the same manager was incredibly rude and aggressive - swinging his keys around arrogantly as he told us we couldn't all get in free or get any offers as promised! He then offered us a group entry price more than if we paid the standard price! As some of my friends were already in there we decided to go in only to discover that the cosy reserved area he had promised me was in fact two small wooden tables pushed together in the middle of the room!

Not surprisingly we left right away and I suggest anyone considering reserving an area at this bar not to bother. The staff are rude liars who treat you completely differently when you actually arrive.
Not to mention the manager who is clearly no genius when it comes to maths or social skills - None of us will ever go back.

A few of the reviews for Lockside Lounge below are laughable!! The place is awesome the food is good and affordable the vibe is super friendly and personally I have never come across a group of cooler, friendlier staff!! In fact the place just won the Camden Readers Choice Best Bar None award!

Went to the Lockside last night and what a bunch of rude pigs they have for staff! Cocktails are rubbish, venue is small and staff are thoroughly p'd off with life!

Becoming quite a regular at the Lockside! Fantastic setting just set back from the craziness of the High St with a great terrace deck overlooking the very picturesque West Yard and canal. Staff are normally all smiley and helpful (had my drink replaced after I clumsily dropped it!!) and the special DJ nights usually blow up!. Only eaten here a couple of times but it was hearty and good value (chicken burger is AWESOME!). Go and see for yourself why the Lockside is pretty much the best bar in Camden.

"TCR's Saturday night bash was a amazing night. Blim and Pilgrem doing the business with a great crowd and top-notch staff. Let's hope this intimate venue pulls in more breaks nights and keeps the same good-egg clientele. I'll be going back - it's proper boo, I tell thee."
