Slip inside the eye of your mind, get your rocks off and head to The Good Mixer: Camden's BritpopBandsUsedToDrinkHereAllTheTime pub. This place still gets busy at weekends with young indiekids, punks and goths getting rowdy hoping to meet Ms Winehouse or Mr Borrell at the bar but the fact is they don't come here anymore.
At first glance this is a dirty, crowded alternative pub - but when you're sitting at the table where the Gallagher's had a shandy with Jarvis Cocker in 1996, who cares? Drink up.
fairly basic pub but ranking high on the cool camden scale. be stylish, be drunk and you'll fit in.
You'll feel like your soles have velcro on 'em with the sound you'll make when pitterpattering around this pub. Drink-laden flooring just doesn't convey how sticky their floorboard gets (let's not ask questions as to why ;) but it true rock n roll demeanor this place is the dogs...
Its a nice place to have 4 or 5 pints of ale and hear some rock revival during your hollidays in London.Best regards.
Just a response to the earlier reviewer who said that the atmosphere is unfriendly. I've never been in this pub and not ended up talking to someone I've never met before. It's not called the good mixer for nothing.Maybe the 'coolness' of some of the clientele can be a bit intimidating at times but for a straight up and down boozer with a decent jukebox you can't do much better.
