What a horrible pub full of horrible bar staff who don't have a clue how to treat customers and a manager who seems to care less - during this time when there is less money floating around you'd think they'd be a bit concerned about keeping customers rather than making them promise to never never step through the door ever again.
We waited over 40mins for our roast lunch to arrive in an almost empty pub. When it did finally arrive we were presented with a plate full of cold hard veg, stringy meat and burnt Yorkshire puddings - we were all starving so really tried to give the food a chance - oh more fool us. When we very politely said we were unhappy daggers may have been thrown in our direction by the barmaid who seemed to instantly take the whole thing like we were personally attacking her and get on her high horse. Her first reaction was to state "I can re-heat it" mmmm a few mins in the microwave doesn't fix a roast where half the food hasn't been cooked correctly in the first place....Then when we asked if we could just have our money back because the food really wasn't edible we were told we'd eaten too much to justify a refund. Huh? way to go folks on not encouraging a return visit. Then when we asked to speak to the manager we were told by the same barmaid from across the bar that they didn't want to talk to us and had empowered her to deal with the situation - obviously they must be getting complaints all the time because they couldn't even show their face - must be bored hearing about how awful the staff are to their customers.
If you want a nice place, good food and friendly helpful bar staff this is NOT a place to go.
Another not too posh Primrose Hill pub with cosy fires and a friendly atmosphere. Again - nothing out of the ordinary, but a perfectly pleasant drink or two can be had here!
Food is bad and expensive, but atmosphere is ok
I found the barstaff here abrupt and surly to say the least. One girl almost looked as though she hated working there and shouted at customers. Another looked as though he had something better to be getting on with. Ignore the barstaff and you may have a good time. Avoid the food as it is expensive and with a multitude of restaurants and gastro pubs nearby you are hardly spoilt for choice
