In the dock, the Thekla floats and host some of the best nights in Bristol including being involved it the DOT to DOT festival. Almost as if it was a stamp of approval there lies a Banksy upon the side of the boat. It's surprisingly large, with room to breathe on deck and umbrellas to shelter you from the elements (important for all those smokers now). The Thekla invites all from around Bristol to come and move along to the beats of the music. This ship plays host to some of the finest eclectic club nights in the South-West and you will be sure to find a night to suit you.

I have fond memories of frequenting the Thekla on many Saturday nights in the late 90's. Everyone was really chilled including the bouncers. The music was fantastic not to mention the atmosphere. I'm not sure what it's like now as I have moved to Oz. I hope it is still more or less the same. The DJ upstairs played a genre of 60's classics and downstairs was a nice blend of Rock & Indie. Also, I liked the fact that it wasn't the proverbial 'meat market' and no one gave a shit what you looked like; you could dress up or down.
