I'm not usually a fan of Chinese cooking, but Alisan is exceptional. I only booked because of its proximity to Wembley stadium. It's so close to the main entrance you can almost detect a whiff of the players' linament. Exquisite presentation compliments rich, yet delicate flavours with an imaginative and original menu. Venison and ostrich feature, though not to the exclusion of some Cantonese staples.
The map on this site is wrong. Alisan is located just opposite the main entrance of Wembley stadium on Engineers Way on the corner of Rutherford Way.Having struggled to find the place, I'm glad we did.The design is truly impressive and featured on the front cover of Bar magazine, which is where I learned of the place. The mezzanine bar held a private party for over 100 people for the FA Cup final apparently - and it wasn't even crowded. But it's the food that makes the trek worthwhile - although it's a mere 15 minutes two stops on the tube from Baker Street to Wembley Park. The Dim Sum Head Chef, CC Wong, was formerly the Dim Sum Head Chef at Yauatcha Michelin-starred Soho restaurant. I whole-heartedly recommend the Scallop Shumai a dim sum with scallops and minced prawns wrapped in a thin pastry and steamed, then topped with fish roe. My guest opted for the exquisitly rendered Baked Silver Cod in Rose Wine Sauce a Japanese silver cod fillet steak marinated in champagne and lemon baked and topped with a rose wine sauce. I chose the no less disappointing marinated tender strips of venison stir fried with black pepper and garlic giving a very slight spicy flavour. For pud, go for the Mango and Grapefruit Tapioca Pearl small cubes of mango and pieces of grapefruit with sago in mango juice served chilled.Alisan is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, but remains open throughout the day when there's a bands performing at Wembley Arena, when it lays on a set pre concert menu.ww.alisan.co.uk
