I used to be a regular customer before it was refurbished. I was sad to see the young lady that was always polite and welcoming had left, and I also prefered the original decor, but enjoyed previous visits so decided to go again for lunch with my young son. I love eating out in my local area and I especially love food. So I am completely open to new ideas and was willing to give this new surroundings a go. The manager was arrogant, rude and obnoxious. Some how I managed to exchange a few cross words about his lack of social skills and left after having a glass of water. I will NEVER EVER give my money to that rude @?! and would recommend poking your eyes out with a stick instead:)
Been there three times.First time I was very drunk and pasta was good, staff arrogant.Second time had Full English breaky - pure muck.Third time was the final time. The manager was rude, staff were so blase they forgot my partner's entree and they didn't come back for our dessert/coffee order.
Food is fine, and there is a bit for everyone. Nothing to write home about but good if you're in need of filling or have run out of food at home. Decor is pleasant, although the walls near some of the tables are in need of cleaning (ketchup and other food stains). Can get crowded which means that they must be doing something right (or else people in West Hampstead have a habit or running out of food). As to service, relatively attentive and efficient. The male Italian waiters, however, try play the "I'm Italian, therefore oze charm" card a little too much. May work for some, but for a middle aged man (such as myself) it can wear thin.
The food is not great but ok. The biggest problem is the service. The staff is unpleasant and especially the manager. You really wonder why you are giving yuor money to those people when you are there. Plus the set up gives you no intimacy whatsoever...
I REAYY THINK THAT THIS SMALL RESTAURANT HAS TRYED HARD TO BECOME SUCCESFULLY WITHOUT ANY LUCK,J HAS BECOME ONLY THE CHEAPPEST RESTAURANT IN THE AREA,LOSING THE ITALIAN TOUCH,ENGLISH BRK IS NOT ITALIANNNN
