I like this place. Okay so its nothing out of the ordinary, every other boozer now has the obligatory comfy leather sofas and mish mash of furniture, but there is something about this place that is both slightly happening and laid back at the same time. I am not sure if I agree with some of the other reviewers about this place, certainly the Regent is typical of the area's gentrification and the ever expanding cool west london vibe, however eye candy behind the bar it certainly does not have (unless you like them young, scruffy and antipodean)!
The place is great for smokers cos of the outside area and great for burger lovers as it does many a decent one of these. I like it for the free popcorn on the bar as you drink, and the fact that the bar is in the middle of the place and you can view everything around you which if heaven if you like to people watch. Whilst there is often DJs at the weekend, the music is never predictable. I have been lucky enough to hear some old time reggae on one occaision, funk on another and some laid back house vibes when I have been very lucky. The lack of pretension is a good thing, with people up for a drink and a laugh in convivial surrounding. The best thing about this place however, is that it bodes well for meeting people you like - i recommend it for nabbing yourself a husband!

What all pubs want to be when they grow up. If you want to know what those trendy bars are lacking, come here and check out a bar with a soul. The staff have personalities, the punters are a great random mish mash of all shapes & sizes, and the music (tho far too loud sometimes) is eclectic & cool.Food's good (Burgers stand out) but the menu doesn't change enough. Doesn't seem to bother most people 'cos its not always easy to get a table, especially sundays.I like the paradise but I always seem to start at the Regent and then go back there... As for the other reviews, if it isn't your cup of tea, no-one's forcing you to stay...
Its all starting to kick off at 2 Regent Street Kensal Rise. The general up and comingness of the area has trust Regents into centre stage as the bar of the moment in NW10land.As is now standard, the bar is half restaurant, half boozer and has enough eye candy behind the bar to put a sweet shop out of business. Saturday night sees the bar pull in the beautiful things in large numbers. If you want a quiet Saturday night out Regents is best swerved as the DJ cranks up the volume from 9pm sharp. On the night I went, the DJ played smorgasbord of broken beats, obscure remixes and eighties dance music, loudly. The food will not win any Michelin stars but is good enough to take a date or your parents too. I had a chicken thing which was great however dont ask her to name the dish. Two drinks and food for one came to about 13. Which I though was great value.Regents is my new favourite bar, until I find another one that is.
"Well, Where do I begin? poor attitude of bar staff toward customers ie '' i'm not serving tonight, can't you see i'm doing paperwork''......even though there was only one person struggling to serve 5 people at once. Karaoke.....If I wanted to go to a noisy karaoke bar I could have gone over to shepherds bush.....obviously things are that bad in Astons that the only way they can entice people in is with karaoke....uh oh....the type of customer karaoke attracts will force my crowd to go elsewhere....maybe to the paradise which is 10 metres down the same street.............ASTONS.....GET A GRIP!!!!!!!"
"It's true that the bar staff won't bend over backwards for you but they will serve you a drink in their own time in a pleasant enough manner! The Thai food is amazing as is the open fire and choice of music. They could do with fixing the broken sofa, though. If you want a quite night, it's perfect. There are too many noisy joints in the area. Locals need a chilled place."
