Have been several times and not had a problem before apart from slow service at the bar and waiter not hearing order correctly. Went for a family meal there last night (18/11/08), was told the wait would be approximately 45 mins for a table of 9, after an hour we checked and were told there were still no tables, no one had come to tell us, we have arrived for 7pm because we had a 15 month old child with us who needed to be home early for bed. The service at the bar was very poor, does not seem to be enough staff. The pub became more busy. Checked with the waitress about the table again and told still none available, but my brother overheard the waitress talking to what appeared to be a friend of hers who had arrived at the pub and was with a large party and the waitress went to find them a table straight away when we have been waiting for over an hour. We were all disgusted and decided to take our custom elsewhere. Don't think we will be going back there in a hurry.

Excellent carvery lots of tender tasty meat, large variety of lovely vegetables and good service.

Four of us were invited (by Toby Carvery as a gesture of goodwill) to a free meal at this restaurant after a previous complaint in the pub area i.e. children playing about and service etc including health and safety issues, unfortunately things have not changed, young children are still running riot also, a wait of about ten minutes to get a drink is not acceptable.The meal (after waiting for 45 minutes for a place setting) was not good, cold plates, mostly cold vegetables, tough meat (beef) however the service by our waiter was OK. It seems that there is not enough staff to meet the needs of customers and what there is seems to be very young and inexperienced.Will not be going again. Ex customer of many years.

we have been 3 time in this pub but service got very very poor and forgetfull we always got not ordering meals, and dessert for two -(will get one now but another one after 40 min)

Excellent Meal - Nice VenuePolite, Friendly and Attentive Service.Some 5 Star Restaurants could take lessons from this place.A value for money enjoyable eating experience
