Aladdin - December 07Saw Aladdin last night. Best panto I have ever seen, John Barrowman and all the cast made it very personal to Birmingham. I have never seen so much audience participation at a panto. Would go again if I could.
Great Theater, one for all Theaters to follow. Nice staff, great look and fantstic shows.
The Producers - July 2007 Saw this last night. Overall a good production. Some excellent performances, a very solid chorus and lots of laughs. But Russ Abbot was a big disappointment - completely wooden. And Joe Pasquale couldn't sing. Why did the producers of this show patronise us by casting TV 'names' who weren't up to the job? Is this the only way to sell tickets? The audience deserve better...
Blood brothers - Nov 06Hello I went to see Blood Brothers with my school because im studying it at school and I really enjoyed the way the actors fitted perfectly to the role. I would like to comment on the mess up that they did when I went to see this at the Birmingham Hippodrome. It was act 2 when the people were dancing and when the song finished she lost her shoe and the other actor had to pick it up it was really funny.:). But all in all I really enjoyed watching it and I hope I get to go again really soon. Oh yeh almost forgot I shot out of my skin when the gun fired at the end lol. :)
Blood Brothers Oct 06Blood Brothers, the international smash hit musical, has returned to the Birmingham Hippodrome by massive popular demand. Rightly hailed by critics as one of the greatest musicals of all time, Blood Brothers has triumphed across the world. Scooping no less than four awards for Best Musical in London, seven Tony nominations on Broadway and receiving a standing ovation at almost every performance, this truly is a musical that delivers. Its sheer quality has earned it the distinction of being of Londons longest running West End musicals. And believe you me, thats no small feat.Blood Brothers is a truly unforgettable epic that has you both laughing and dancing in your seat with a finale that is so heart breaking that youll be reflecting on it for weeks after viewing it.Set in author Willy Russell's native Liverpool, it tells the captivating tale of twin brothers Mickie and Eddie separated at birth only to be re-united by a twist of fate and a mother's haunting secret of abandonment. It is a story about life and the opportunities that are outside our control as a result of the accident of birth as well as those we create for ourselves of our own free will and its message will communicate on a deep emotional level will all who are fortunate enough to see it.To summarise, Blood Brothers has everything. Brilliant actors and singers, amazing scenery and a fantastic and vibrant score, I dont think I could recommend it any more.
