I went to Reno's twice last year. Loved the atmosphere and the food was OK but had potential (one small problem with a steak which I was told "was M/R and only looks over cooked because of the lights"? It was eventually put right though, half an hour later).I visted the City again recently only to find Reno's had closed down. I am very disappointed as we had two memorable nights out dispite the steak. PS King Scallop means exactly that in Reno's, one solitary scallop. All in all the entertainment made up for the food...
I wouldn't pay attention to these reviews anymore...Renos closed last year. The critics were right--after going there for my Christmas do to be disappointed by tiny portions and turtle-paced service--the restaurant closed with no notice (about 1 week after sending us a Renos voucher 'to apologise') Needless to say we never got to use it....
Dont listen to the reviews it sounds like its a couple off ex work freinds with a chip on there shoulder. Since we only opend on the 29 of June this is total lies. Come see for yourself you well not be disappionted and anybody who has had a bad experiance in the old place renos let us put it right. NEW MANAGEMENT , NEW STAFF, BETTER MENU.
Def liked the old renos better. Food was fine, too rich but palatable. Decor seems a bit dated and boring. I say should have kept things the way they were....maybe it will grow on me...if i go back! i doubt iit though.
Food was great, although a little rich. service fine. But the decor! Please , please loose the plastic flowers.
Great news, RENOS RETURNS within the next month under new managment and a new chef. Opening the ground floor only at first the new managment hope to return this once great restaurant/bar to its former self. With an electric atmosphere and good, reasonably priced menu the new managment are hoping to bring that once renown spot back to life and put it back on the map as one of Belfasts places to eat and to be seen.. Heres hoping that all of you who have greatly enjoyed Renos in the past (like myself) return again and again and for those who didn't have quite a good night as the rest of us i hope you give the new managment, chef and all the new staff the chance to right the wrongs of their predecessors and show you how to enjoy Belfasts legendary craic at this great venue.
Went the other Friday night to try RENOS for the first time; despite mixed reviews on this site and also from friends, I thought I'd give it a try. Upon arrival though I discovered it was closed - as in closed down; oh well I think that speaks for itself - I obviously wasn't missing much !!!
I went to Reno's for lunch during work. The food was really nice (if a little slow to arrive) and the portions were very small. There was very loud live music - probably a bit too loud for lunch time. In all, if you fancy a light snack and don't mind the noise, a good bet.
Went to Renos on Saturday night the food was very bland and not much taste I asked to speak to chef and was told lets just say he had'' no time to speak to me'' I asked to speak to the manager and this man appeared and looked at me like I was thick, bad day all round needs to be better
I was advised to go to Reno's by my sister who had been there with her boyfriend, so I took my best friend and enjoyed the pleasant, airy atmosphere. The staff were very polite and the food was delishious. I do agree the entertainment may have been a bit loud, but I would definitely go again!
