Moonlight follows the exploits of a tall, dark and handsome Private Detective supernatural specialist, Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) who has a deadly secret to hide; he is in fact a reluctant vampire himself! Whilst struggling against his vampire nature he also uses his sharpened senses to help the living by solving a host of crimes and supernatural mysteries. The series also stars Shannyn Sossamon as Mick’s beautiful vampire wife, who turned Mick ‘undead’ on their wedding day. But, to complicate matters even further, he’s broken Vampire Rule Number One and fallen in love with a mortal, a young journalist – Beth Turner (Sophia Myles).

Despite realising that Beth means a lot to him, Mick is reluctant to continue a romantic relationship with her, knowing that his being a vampire would hinder any sort of normal life

With Beth’s help Mick must fight his own inner demons whilst tackling those found in the real world and then there’s also a little matter of his wife to contend with...a 300 year old French courtesan who turned into a vampire on their honeymoon and has been presumed dead for years.
