"BBCi has struck a deal with MyVillage to syndicate
live local news to the community portal.
John Allen, head of new services, BBC English regions,
said: "Providing access to BBC local news from the MyVillage
web site means that BBC content is available to licence
fee payers whose lives don’t necessarily revolve around
sitting down in front of the news at a prescribed time."

MyNottinghill Awards 2001 (May 2001)
MyVillage receives extensive press including Hello,
OK, and Sky after holding a glitzy awards ceremony at
the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill. Local celebrities

and Jenny Frost attend awards, while DJing is none other

In the beginning (1999)
Local site www.portowebbo.co.uk
was started in 1999 by Roifield Brown in Notting Hill.
Local Adam Cole was looking for a plumber one day and
bumped into www.portowebbo.co.uk.
He immediately recognised it was a great concept and
invested in the company in March 2000. MyVillage is
born.
