Went for first visit to Filling Station and was very disappointed with my meal. Ordered chilli burger and fries. when it arrived chilli was hardly visible on top of burger, looked like chef had spread it on with a knife.I have heard of portion control but this was taking it to extreme. Fries were undercooked. I complained to waitress who went and returned with a very small bowl containing just enough chilli to justify it now being a chilli burger. All during the meal the smoke alarm kept going off as the griddle in kitchen was smoking badly and drifting out into the main eating area. The chefs did not appear to bothered with the discomfort they were causing customers with smoke getting in peoples eyes. However on a positive note the waitress was pleasant as was other staff I came into contact with, I wont let this first experience put me off and may return at some point with the hope my chilli burger will look like one.
Had a lovely meal here with my boyfriend few weeks ago he a the pepperoni pizza very generous sized and I had the chicken burger lovely tasting burger great sized portion.Waitress service was good too.
Food is not good and service is very slow. Meals do not serve as states on the menu.
We went to the Filling Station back in August and I can honestly say it was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had!The evening started well with nice cocktails and nice surroundings but when the main course arrived, it went very much downhill! My boyfriend had ordered fish and chips and when it arrived it wasn't cooked! It was cold and slimey so when we pointed this to the waitress she just said she would get another one! Well you can imagine after seeing and touching a wet cold fish, we didn't really want to chance another one! The chef was rude and couldn't understand why we couldnt just get another fish. He then produced some chicken wrap which had clearly been microwaved from frozen, it was just horrible. Our evening was ruined, we were all put off our food (which wasn't fantastic) and couldn't wait to leave. To top it off I wrote a letter of complaint and received no response back.A complete shambles of a place, I would highly recommend you don't go here! There are so much nicer places around the top end of Union Street.
